Liverpool has Signed Benteke from Aston Villa

Liverpool has finally completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke for £32.5m which is reported that the payment will be spreed.

         

The 24 year old Belgian agreed a long-term contract at Anfield and becomes their second most expensive signing in history.

The Reds recently sold Raheem Sterling to Manchester City in a region of £49m English record fee.

Christian Benteke has scored 42 league goals since 2012/13; Sergio Agüero is the only active Premier League player with more (55). 

Benteke in is first interview stated: "I think #LFC was the right club for me because I had a good chat with the manager and I wanted to be part of his project." 

Liverpool are now having seven strikers in their Arsenal to choose from, which will be an added advantage for them this season after they were short off quality in the just concluded 2014/2015 Season.     

A red in Clyne has Liverpool Complete Sixth Signing of the Summer

Liverpool FC has now completed the signing of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton.

Nathaniel Clyne: “I'm delighted and it's a dream move for me to come here and play for such a big club like Liverpool."

Nathaniel Clyne: "As soon as Liverpool showed their interest in me, I was happy and just wanted the deal to go through." 

Nathaniel Clyne: "Lallana said he wanted me to sign and I said if the deal moves along and gets done, I'd be with him as a teammate once." 

Asked to sum up his feelings on moving to Liverpool, Clyne responded "I'm happy...very happy!". 

Liverpool FC Legend Says Goodbye in a Letter to Fans

Having spent over 17 years at Anfield, Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard would be saying his good-bye soon but he writes to the club supporter as he makes that move to the MLS this summer.

            

The letter reads: 

To all my fans,

Saying goodbye hasn't been easy.

Liverpool Football Club has been such a massive part of my life since I was eight years old and I know how much I'm going to miss it.

It's been an emotional time for my family and I with my final game at Anfield against Crystal Palace and then my last appearance away to Stoke City.

But I've been blown away by the send-off I've been given by the supporters and I'd like to thank every one of you. It's been very humbling and it's something I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

It's been an absolute privilege to represent this football club for so long.

When I was a kid, kicking a ball around in Ironside Road in Huyton, all I ever wanted to do was play for Liverpool. I dreamed of pulling that shirt on just once.

I never thought I'd get close to achieving that so to be able to look back on a first-team career of 710 appearances spanning 17 years I'm immensely proud.

I've loved every minute of playing for the best supporters in the world.

It's been an amazing journey. There have been some glorious highs and some crushing lows, but throughout you have given me fantastic support and I'll never forget that.

The highs have been all the sweeter because they have been achieved with my boyhood club. We have shared those special moments together.

Of course the pinnacle of my career arrived in Istanbul 10 years ago. That was the best night of my life. When I lifted the European Cup, there was no prouder man on the planet.

It meant so much to me to deliver that trophy for you. The supporters played such a big part in helping to inspire that famous comeback against AC Milan. I'll never forget how they helped to lift our chins off the floor after that nightmare first half.

People have often asked me about the pressure on my shoulders to deliver for Liverpool but I've never seen that as a burden. There's been huge responsibility on me but I've always loved and embraced that.

It's been a massive honour to be captain of this club for so long. I've always given my best and tried to lead by example.

I've been very fortunate to play alongside some incredible players and for managers who have all helped me to improve and develop. I'm proud of what I've given back - the sacrifices, the dedication and the loyalty over the years.

But more than anything I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to play in front of these fans for so long.

Liverpool is my home and I love this city. But I believe the time is right to open a new chapter as I prepare to move to America.

I want to keep playing every week in the final few years of my career and I'm looking forward to embarking on a new challenge with Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS.

I'll be away for the next couple of years but this isn't the end of my long association with Liverpool FC. I've been a supporter all my life and that will continue.

I hope to get the opportunity to come back and serve the club again one day. I feel that I can make a contribution in some role in the future.

But today is all about looking back and saying thank-you to the fans for the magnificent support you have given me over the past two decades. You have helped me to fulfil my dreams over and over again and given me memories I wouldn't swap for anything.

I Turned Down Real Madrid for Anfield Move - Cissé

In a recent interview with French publication ​L'Équipe, former Liverpool forward Djibril Cissé stated that in the same transfer window as his high-profile move to Liverpool, there was strong interest from two of Europe's biggest clubs.

      

When asked by the French outlet which clubs were after him back in 2004, he said "three or four clubs, including Real Madrid and Juventus", And when speaking on his decision to join the merseyside outfit, "I have no regrets because I went to Liverpool and won the Champions League".

"You tell yourself that this is to be the successor, the replacement for the replacement, it is not wise".

After permanently leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2007, Cisse spent the rest of his career in short stints at Marseille, Sunderland, Lazio, Panathinaikos, QPR, Al-Gharafa and Kuban Krasnodar, before arriving at his current club, Bastia.

In 2004, Djibril Cisse was one of Europe's hottest prospects, on the back of a very impressive spell with French side Auxerre, scoring 90 goals in six seasons.

After earning his move to Merseyside in the summer of 2004, the Frenchman's career took a sharp, downward spiral, as one injury after another ground his Anfield career to a halt.

After only two years at Liverpool, he joined Marseille on loan and the deal was made permanent the following season. During his brief time at Anfield, he netted 24 times in 82 appearances. One of his most notable goals being Liverpool's first in their dramatic 3-3 FA Cup final victory over West Ham in 2006.

I will treasure my Awards- Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho headed home from the 2015 Players' Awards with a haul of four accolades from fans and teammates that the Brazilian admitted he will treasure.

     

The ceremony at the Echo Arena on Tuesday was the No.10's night, according to Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, and the prize-giving certainly proved his point.

Coutinho was named Player of the Year by supporters and Melwood colleagues alike - recognition of a season in which his magic has shone so regularly for the Reds.

If that wasn't enough, he scooped the Goal of the Year honour for a stunning blast at Southampton and Performance of the Year for his efforts against Manchester City.

"It's very important for me because these awards were chosen by my fellow teammates and the supporters," the attacker later told Liverpoolfc.com.

"My teammates are the people I work with all year round, so being recognised by them makes it an important award for me which I treasure a lot."

Coutinho has found the target eight times in 2014-15, often in spectacular fashion. So was the long-range strike at St Mary's his own personal favourite too?

"I loved that goal and it was probably my most beautiful goal of the season," he concurred.

Liverpool travel to Stoke City on Sunday to complete their campaign, and the Brazil international will then participate in the Copa America this summer.

Looking beyond that to next season, though, Coutinho expressed his determination to build on his progress and help the Reds challenge again.

He added: "Hopefully we will fight for the first four places and the title, like last season. Unfortunately, things didn't go our way this season but we hope that next season we will be there or thereabouts."

Liverpool Vice-captain Henderson signs new Five-year deal

Liverpool and England Midfielder Jordan Henderson has agreed terms on an improved contract at Anfield, having had just 14 months left on his current contract
       
 He will now sign a new £ 100,000-a-week deal with Liverpool. As Mirror Sport revealed on April 12, Henderson will ink a five-year deal to remain at Anfield having earlier turned down an £80,000-a-week offer.

The former Sunderland midfielder, who joined the Reds £16 million back 2011, follows Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in agreeing a contract extension.

The 24-year-old vice-captain is in line to take the club captaincy from Steven Gerrard when he leaves for LA Galaxy at the end of the season.

His current contract had just 14 months left and his new deal ties him to the Reds until 2020.

Liverpool to host all star charity match too honour Steven Gerrard

A Unique charity football match to benefit the people of Liverpool will take place at Anfield later this month, which will include two All-Star line-ups of some of Europe's elite players reported liverpoolfc.com.
             
The event, which has been organised by Liverpool FC's official charity, the Liverpool FC Foundation, will bring together two teams that will be selected by Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher as some of the most influential players they have played with or against.

Gerrard will take on the role of captain for one team, while Carragher will take on the same role for the other All-Star side. Managers and the final line-up of each All-Stars team will be announced in the coming weeks.

Player recruitment is well underway, and players confirmed include Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, Xabi Alonso, Thierry Henry, John Terry and Didier Drogba, to name a few.

Current Reds first-team players who are not on international duty will also play some part, as well as some of the Academy's brightest stars, plus the club's backroom staff will also be on hand to offer support.

Gerrard will leave Liverpool at the end of the season and this special match will give fans the opportunity to see him alongside some of their favorites- all to raise funds for the local community.

Tickets for this exciting event, which will take place on Sunday March 29, 2015, kick off 3pm, will be priced at £20 for adults, £5 for juniors and £15 for over 65s. Disabled concessionary prices will also apply.

Proceeds raised will help to fund the Liverpool FC Foundation's community programmes, which benefit thousands of young people and adults throughout the city of Liverpool .

Funds will also support Alder Hey's new Hospital in the park, as well Providing support packages to Clarire House, Positive Futures, Centre 56 and Cash for Kids.

Tickets will initially be available to season ticket holders and LFC members from 1pm on Thursday March 5, with a general sale to follow at 8.15am on Wednesday March 11.

Liverpool Announce signing Record Breaking Kit Deal with Based New Balance

Liverpool have announced a new record breaking Kit deal with Boston based firm New Balance who will supply kits and training wear from the start of the 2015/16 season, replacing the current contract with Warrior according to reports.

The Anfield club confirmed it is bigger than any deal they have signed before and see it as a big step forward in terms of global marketing and branding.


A club statement read, "Liverpool products will be sold in more than 500 New Balance retail stores around the globe and will support the manufacturer's growth and entry into the football market."

Report on 90Min New Balance is the parent company of existing supplier Warrior but this represents the first time the sports gaint itself, which employs more than 4,000 people worldwide, has entered the football market.

Liverpool's chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said, " We are thrilled to announce this partnership with one of the world's leading sportswear brands, which is a record-breaking deal for the club.

"Like Liverpool FC, New Balance has more than 100 years of heritage and a global footprint.

"Not only are they well know for their technical innovation across a range of sports but they also have a presence in many countries across the world, which will all feature LFC kit. We are very excited about joining forces with them."

Sterling and Coutinho Last Minute goals secure Liverpool to FA Cup 5th Round
