South Africa’s foremost women’s footballer, Portia Modise
has called time on an illustrious career spanning over a decade.
The retirement of the 32-year old was announced by the South
African Football Association (SAFA) president, Danny Jordaan at a press
briefing on Tuesday, 19 May 2015; marking an end to the career of unarguably
the most gifted South African female footballer of all time.
Modise scored over 100 goals in as many as 120
matches for the Banyana Banyana between 2000 to 2015.
