As Xavi prepares to say his goodbyes after 17 years at
Barcelona, a photograph posted to the club's official Instagram account has
illustrated the incredible success he achieved at the Nou Camp.
The Spain midfielder, now 35 and preparing to move to
Al-Sadd following Saturday's Champions League final, posed on Barcelona's pitch
alongside the 24 trophies won while he was at the club.
They include eight league titles, three Champions Leagues,
two UEFA Super Cups, three Copa del Reys, six Spanish Supercups, and two FIFA
Club World Cups.
He will take his tally to 25 if Barca beat Juventus to claim
this season's Champions League final in Berlin, but regardless of the result
Xavi is already the club's most decorated player ever.
An emotional Xavi was reduced to tears at his farewell event
on Wednesday as long-time team-mate and friend Andres Iniesta paid tribute to
him.
Iniesta, who has been in the team with Xavi since 2002,
said: 'Captain, team-mate and friend. We can't imagine the first work-out of
next season without you. It's been a privilege to play alongside you.
'Thanks, Xavi, for always being an example, for always
putting the group before yourself. Thanks for all your advice.
'Thank you Xavi, for all those years, for all the talks,
about football and other things. Those who know you know you will be back.'
