Liverpool have signed England midfielder James Milner on a
free transfer having seen his Manchester City contract expire.
Liverpool today officially announced that a deal had been
agreed with Milner who rejected a four-year-contract worth £165,000 per week to
stay with Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield for several weeks and the move has now been confirmed ahead of his contract at City expiring at the end of this month.
The switch to Anfield has made the Reds Milner’s fifth
Premier League club of his career having previously had stints at Leeds,
Newcastle, Aston Villa and of course, Manchester City.
